What is the homework policy?

Homework is given each night. The assignments are written on the
board and
students are required to copy the assignments into their
agendas. There may
or may not be homework given over the weekend. Students are
required to
complete at least 50 mins. of homework four nights each week.
The purpose
of homework is to practice the skills being taught during the
day. There is
a direct correlation to completion of homework and good grades.
Failure to
complete the required homework will result in after school
detention.

What is the behavior policy?

Students are well-aware of the expectations set before them in
the classroom
in regards to behavior. Students and parents are asked to read
and sign the
Rights and Responsibilities guidelines sent home at the beginning
of the
year. These guidelines state that all students have the right
and/or
responsibility to learn, work safely, use time wisely, and
respect others
and their property.

Failure to comply with the classroom rights and responsibilites
results in:
1. Two warnings
2. Detention in classroom
3. Detention in office and meeting with parent/guardian

All students in the middle school receive report cards quarterly

What happens if a child misses school due to illness?

When a student is out sick, the teachers make up a packet of
missed work for
the child. When the child returns to school, he or she has the
same number
of days out to make up the work. For example, if the child
missed two days
of school, he or she would have two days to make up the work.
