As defined in the school handbook, homework for Grade 5 is a minimum of 50 minutes four nights each week. Homework is a required element of Fifth Grade and is necessary to ensure that each child is grasping the material taught during the day. Parents can help by checking the homework with their child and signing the child's daily agenda. If students do not complete a homework assignment, they fill in a slot in the classroom homework binder. Once three slots have been filled, an after school detention is issued. During after school time, students will make up the work that they missed and will be sent home with a list of any assignments that have not been turned in.
