Mrs. Simonds has been a teacher at the Whitin Middle School since 1995. She
is a graduate of Framingham State College where she studied elementary
education and Spanish. She received her Master's Degree in middle school
education a few years later from Worcester State College. Mrs. Simonds began
her career in Uxbridge as the middle school's Spanish teacher, and after
three years, moved to a fifth grade classroom position. Currently, Mrs.
Simonds teaches Reading, Language Arts, and Social Studies on a team with Mr.
Burton.
Mrs. Simonds and her husband are residents of Uxbridge and have three
children, Elizabeth, Nicholas, and Caroline. The two eldest are students in
the Uxbridge Public School System.
In her spare time, Mrs. Simonds enjoys scrapbooking, photography, aerobics,
and reading. She is also an advocate for supporting the troops and co-chairs
a group in town called Uxbridge Supports Our Troops. In addition, Mrs.
Simonds volunteers at her church's Sunday School and is actively
involved in many community activities.
Our team utilizes a variety of instructional practices in our classrooms
to meet the needs of all learners and works to provide a safe, friendly,
caring, and enriching atmosphere in which to learn. Our team is
passionate about what we do and hopes to instill good values, a love of
learning, and respect for oneself and others in all of our students.
