Do you want to get involved in a charity or get some community service under
your belt for school or church? Here's a good website to get you started.
I think the best way to feel better when you're down is to reach out and
help someone else. It takes your mind off of your worries and makes twice
as many people happy!

Site used for GRADE 8 disease research project.

restaurant menu project.

The International Institute for Holistic Healing. I was not a believer
in "alternative" therapies until I had no other alternatives left! I
believe in naturopathic medicine because it works - it would not still be
around after 5000 years if it didn't...

This website allows you to become a HEARTLAND HERO and help children in war
torn and underdeveloped countries by donating much needed school supplies.

Want to support the TROOPS but don't have any contacts? This website is
great. You can find the names of service men and women who need letters of
support and "comfort" items that we take for granted. You'd be surprised
what toothpaste, tissues and chewing gum can do for morale! Great service
project for kids to be involved in ( church, community and school groups )

True stories from smokers - parents and kids should look at this together.

Another of Dove's Campaign for Real Beauty films - "Onslaught". This is an
eye opening view of the barrage of advertisements we encounter.

A great website for busy families! If we can make fitness fun we will be
more likely to stick with it. Fitness doesn't have to mean joining a gym or
playing an organized sport. Yard work, walking your dog and taking out the
garbage are all forms of exercise and so is house cleaning. Get together,
and get fit!

Here is a great chart for figuring out how many calories are burned in an
hour for dozens of activities from aerobics to horseback riding ( no - the
horse DOES NOT do all the work ) to whitewater rafting and yard work!

Ever wonder why the items under your sink are so good at killing germs?
It's because they're poisonous! Here's a very comprehensive database of
household products from air fresheners to deodorant, window cleaners,
shampoo, soap and mascara and just about everything else. This is not
intended to scare anyone, just make you aware of what is in your home. We
all like nice fragrances and pretty colors, but sometimes the chemicals that
make them possible are no good for us. Our homes are 400% more "polluted"
than some of our busiest and most crowded cities due to "out gassing" from
all the cleaners we use...

Here are some really useful and inexpensive ( not to mention HEALTHY )
alternatives to harsh chemicals in the home. It's amazing what vinegar and
baking soda can do! Do you have well water ? Don't like what it does to
your hair? Try a little baking soda mixed with your shampoo and conditioner
once a week - the alkalinity of the baking soda neutralizes the pH of water
( Much of New England has acidic water ) and also softens water...

What do honey, avacado and olive oil have in common? They are good not
only for the inside of you, but the outside too... And believe it or not
there is something good about cholesterol - your hair loves it! Here's a
link to a great website for making your own hair and skin care products -
without all the chemicals. It's fun for slumber parties and a great
alternative to paying a lot of money for colors and chemicals.

You may have noticed that brands like GAP, Motorola, American Express and
Hallmark have been selling (PRODUCT)RED. (RED) was created by Bono and
Bobby Shriver, Chairman of DATA to raise awareness and money for The Global
Fund by teaming up with the world's most iconic brands to produce (PRODUCT)
RED branded products. A percentage of each (PRODUCT)RED item that is sold is
given to The Global Fund. The money helps women and children affected by
HIV/AIDS in Africa. Click on the link below to see all (RED) products and
see how much someone across the world benefits when you purchase these
products! You just might get Inspi(red)!

Kiva is a non-profit organization that links entrepenurs in developing
countries with willing "investors". For as little as $25.00 you and your
child, youth group, company can help someone across the world better their
lives and their community. It's not a hand out, but rather a hand up
because the loan is repaid. Help your child see how fortunate they are!!!
