I have been a Melrose resident for more than 22 years. Three of my four
children currently attend Melrose Public Schools. My educational background
includes a BA, from Lesley University, with a major in Human Development and
a minor in Early Childhood Education - with and without disabilities. I am
currently enrolled at Lesley University in pursuit of a Master's degree in
Curriculum & Instruction, with a specialization in Literacy.
My educational experience includes teaching Pre-K at the Early Childhood
Center in Melrose, and substitute teaching for several years in grades Pre-K
through 5, including special education. This will be my third year teaching
second grade, and I know we will have a great year. Shhh...don't tell anyone,
but second grade is my favorite!
Some things I enjoy doing include spending time with my family - including my
pug, Dudley; reading; visiting the Melrose Public Library; listening to many
different genres of music; reading; nature walks; attending workshops; and did
I say reading?
One of my goals for this year is to hone in on my students' development of
thinking and problem solving skills. I plan on reaching that goal by teaching
my students to think critically using 21st Century skills.
