Who can participate in these fundraisers?
Any student of Garden City Collegiate can participate in these
individual
fundraisers. See Mrs Lubkey for more information on the specific
fundraiser
(s) you'd like to become involved in.
How does it work?
Students pick up order forms or fundraiser merchandise (ie case
of
chocolates) from Mrs Lubkey. Deadlines for orders and/or money
are clearly
outlined. All money and any unsold items are returned to them on
or before
the deadline. Students' fundraising accounts are credited with
the profits
from their individual sales. Students can check their
fundraising accounts
online through this website from home or school.
Why fundraise?
Garden City students have the opportunity participate in many
activities,
extracurricular as well as in class during their years at
school. Students
can use their fundraising accounts to pay for these activities,
for school
or team clothing, registration or library fees or for graduation.
What happens to the money at the end of the school year?
Students who are registered to return to Garden City Collegiate
for the next
school year will find their account remains active. Students who
do not
plan to return (graduate or transfer to other schools) can choose
to gift
their remaining funds to a sibling at our school. Otherwise funds
from
former students will become the property of Garden City
Collegiate to be
used at the principal's discretion for student activities.
What happens to my fundraising money when I graduate?
When a student is graduating, any money in their account by mid-
may gets ear-marked for grad tickets and Mrs Lubkey tells
students (through their Advocacy Teacher)the balance of what they
owe for the number of dinner-dance tickets that they order.
Grads with fundraising money remaining after ticket purchase are
given these options:
a. transfer the remaining money to a younger sibling/relative
how attends (or will attend GC in the fall);
b. bring in receipts for Lifetouch photo package ordered;
c. bring in receipts for grad ring purchased;
d. transfer money to scholarship fund
Any money left in the graduating student accounts at the end of
June becomes the property of Garden City Collegiate and under the
discretion of the school principal.
