Chamber Choir Solo Requirement:

You need 6 solos.  If you want to do a duet with someone that's fine but it can't be part of your 6 solos.  Recommended genres:

A WORKSHEET FOR THIS HAS BEEN POSTED ON THE GOOGLE.CLASSROOM.COM SITE UNDER CHAMBER CHOIR.

24 Italians, G. Schirmer -- pick any one of those. Just google it.  The book is available .pdf online, or you can order a used copy from Amazon or half.com.     Choose Medium High book for soprano/tenor and Medium Low voice for alto/bass. I will choose one for you if you can't decide.

An Opera Aria

An Oratorio Aria (Do the recitative also that precedes it -- it's traditional to do so)

A Broadway solo

A Pop tune

A Folk Song

An Art Song (German Lieder, Schumann, Schubert, Wolf;  English Composers -- google it)

Make these the core of your solo list, then you can add more later.

You must have an accompaniment.  That can be a piano accompanist (a person!), a karaoke track/Youtube; or you can accompany yourself on the guitar or the Ukelele for say, a folk or pop song.  Make sure your accompaniment is appropriate to the piece you are singing.  Any questions, ask me.
