About the Teacher

Mrs. Brumbach is a Magna Cum Laude Graduate of Mansfield University of 
Pennsylvania with a degree in Music Education/Voice/Piano/Guitar.  She is 
the 1993 recipient of the Sigma Alpha Iota Sword of Honor Award for the 
Outstanding Senior in Music;  and the David J. Dick Award for the 
Outstanding Senior in Choral Conducting.  She holds a Pennsylvania 
Masters' Equivalency Certificate for graduate courses in music education, 
choral conducting, choral methods, music technology at Duquesne 
University, Westminster Choir College, West Chester University, The 
Juilliard School, and Boston University.   She holds Kodaly and Orff Level 
One Certifications;  Jazz Educator's Certification from IAJE;  
Certification from the Jazz at Lincoln Center's Directors Academy;  and 
has published several articles in music trade journals. She is currently 
pursuing a formal masters degree at the University of Maryland.

Mrs. Brumbach has taught private voice, piano and guitar for more than 30 
years.  She has also taught Choir/Voice/Music Theory/Guitar/Music 
Appreciation in a Pennsylvania high school for the better part of 20 
years. 

Her husband, Glen,  is currently teaching at the University of Maryland 
while studying for his PhD in Music Education.  He taught High School 
Instrumental Music in Pennsylvania for 34 years.

Wil graduated from the University of Maryland and taught middle school 
band and orchestra in Prince George's County for three years.  He is 
currently at the University of Southern California (USC) working on his 
Master's Degree in Studio Guitar with courses in Film and TV scoring.  He also writes and 
produces podcasts and videos (the you tube video above) for the USC Viterbi School of 
Engineering.





 

Teaching Mission:

The mission of this program is to provide a top quality musical experience 
in vocal/choral/piano/guitar/music theory/musical theater studies. This 
includes a strong educational foundation in musicanship and vocal technique. 
The activities are also designed to prepare the willing student with a solid 
foundation for post- high school study in these disciplines.
