5th grade Bloggin'

I really like Fifth Grade because of all the fredom you have. You also have
amazing teachers. They also handle things very well. There is some fighting
going on in the Fifth Grade so we had this big Fifth Grade meeting about it.
I'm also learning alot. Cause and Effect is what we're learning in Reading
class. In Math B we are learning about multiplying, dividing, subtracting and
adding integers. And finally, in Social Studies, we are learning about the
Revolutionary War. Besides not dodging the homework, Fifth Grade is the best!

FIFTH GRADE IS AWESOME! The best reason is that we went to the Maryland
Science Center. We went to this amazing room with all these experients. Some
of us even went onto the NAILBED. I went on it, and it was not that bad. I
felt like I was floating. We went on to the next room, and there was this
room wit a bunch of experiments.

In Fith grade we are doing so many things. On october 24,2009 we are going
to The Maryland science museum. I am so excited for the museum because I am
learning all these things in science and i can put them in to use.

I love 5th grade so far. You get to do fun activities, and go to different
rotations. The rotations are: Reading with Ms. Travis, math with Ms.
Williams, and science and social studies with Mr. Leffler. We also use the
PROMETHEAN boards to order lunch, and do activities. In math we are learning
about integers, and function machines. In reading we are learning about
summarys, and are reading in small groups. In science we are learnig about
motions and forces. The next unit in science, we are going to learn about
electricity. This is most of the stuff we are doing. See ya.

5th grade is exciting already! It’s really nice that we get to have all the
teachers this year. What I like the most is that we have a whole rotation of
science and social studies every day! In past grades we only did a little
bit of science and social studies. We’re going to learn so much more this
year in 5th grade! And can you believe this brand new building? We have a
separate gym and fantastic recess courts, soccer field and playgrounds. The
promethean boards in every classroom are really nice also. See you next time!

What I like about 5th grade so far is Mr.Leffler's 5th grade science and
social studies class. We have made flipbooks and learned about the
government. Our first session is force in motion. We have used tennis balls
and bean bags to expeirement. There is push force and pull force.

Next I really liked Mrs. Travis' reading class. We are now doing theme
statments. a theme statment is basically a moral except it's used in everyday
lives. We've read great books like The Butterfly by Patricia Polacco. We
wrote theme statments for every book!! That's what I like about Mrs. Travis'
class!

My final rotation is math B with Ms. Williams. We just finished box and
whisker plots. They were a little confusing at first, but I managed. We are
now currently doing double and single stem and leaf plots. What that is is
that we compare other scores with another. We find the mean, median,
mode ,range, max.,min., upper and lower quartiles, and the inter quartile
range. We also identified outliers. Bet you didn't learn that in 5th
grade,eh?

That's a basic day for me.
