Mrs. Lurye has been teaching in MCPS for 22 years, the last 10 years at
Bells Mill. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education from the
University of Maryland and a Master's Degree in Special Education from
George Washington University. She has taught in high school and middle
school, and has been a teacher specialist in the MCPS central office.
Mrs. Lurye loves spending time with her family! Her husband is a criminal
defense attorney and a writer. Her son is a singer who recently graduated
from the University of Maryland. He is performing as well as writing for
local theatrical productions. Her daughter is a freshman at the University of
Maryland. Go Terps! Mrs. Lurye also loves to play with Joey, the family
Bichon Frise.
Mrs. Lurye helps her students learn how to show off their strengths, and to
use tools and strategies to improve their weaknesses.
