I serve as the mentor teacher at Churchville and Bel Air Elementary. In
addition to being the mentor teacher at Churchville, I also serve as the
liaiaon for the College of Notre Dame. The job of a mentor teacher is to
support any teacher who is under five years of service to HCPS schools. As
the mentor, I have also been placed at the schools to support the teachers
and to be their voice in school matters. In addition to supporting
teachers, I also present and provide professional development to the
teachers under the direction of the adminstration of the school. Working
with fellow mentors in HCPS, we have established a close professional
learning community which is dedicated to work together as a team to support
the teachers in our buildings.
I come to the job with years of experience in grades 3,4,and 5. I also
have been an enrichment teacher, grades K-5, in HCPS. I have worked at
Hickory, Fountain Green, Riverside, Bakerfield, William S. James, and Halls
Cross Road. I have served on various committees in the school system and
have presented at various staff developments throughout the county. I am
proud to serve as the mentor teacher for both of the school commumities.
My mission as a mentor is to support the teachers at both of my schools. I
am also here to share my passion for teaching and share this passion with
new
teachers in Harford County Public Schools. I also am here to support
the "best bets" for the county which are intended to raise student
achievement through their use.
