Extra Credit

ONLY ONE EXTRA CREDIT ASSIGNMENT CAN BE SUBMITTED PER QUARTER.

All extra credit assignments must be handed in prior to the quarterly exam.

Social Studies:

Find two articles from the newspaper, magazine or internet that have to do with the unit we are presently studying.

Submitt the articles along with three well developed paragraphs (5-8 sentences) for each article. The assignment must be submitted in a well organized, attractive manner. All the pages must be attatched starting with a cover page. The project must be either typed or written clearly in pen. No scratch-outs or pencil. This assignment is worth 40 classwork points. This is another opportunity for you to show your BEST work.

Paragraph #1 - Summary of the article.

Paragraph #2 - A detailed explanation of how this article is connected to the unit we are studying.

Paragraph #3 - How does the article make you feel or what impact this information will have on the future.

Remember, there will be a total of at least 6 paragraphs for one extra credit assignment ( two articles).

The three paragraphs are to be written in YOUR OWN WORDS. Do not copy someone else's work.

Assignments that do not meet requirements can be re-submitted. To be on the safe side, turn in assignments four weeks before the end of the quarter.

To receive a grade lower than a "C", a student must make a conscious decision to NOT do a significant portion of the work.
