ONLY ONE EXTRA CREDIT ASSIGNMENT CAN BE SUBMITTED PER QUARTER.

All extra credit assignments must be handed in prior to the quarterly exam.

Find two current (within 1 year) articles from the newspaper, magazine or internet that are connected to the unit we are presently studying. These articles are to be periodicals with the author,date and name of the periodical clearly printed. All articles must be approved in advance- 8 pts (4 ea).

Submitt the articles along with three well developed paragraphs for each article. The assignment must be submitted in a well organized, attractive manner. All the pages must be attatched starting with a cover page -4 pts. The project must be either typed or written clearly in pen. No scratch-outs or pencil. This assignment is worth 40 classwork points. This is another opportunity for you to show your BEST work -(effort) - 4 pts.

Paragraph #1 - Summary of the article. 8 pts (4 ea.).

Paragraph #2 - A detailed explanation of how this article is connected to the unit we are studying.8 pts (4 ea.)

Paragraph #3 - How does the article make you feel or what impact this information will have on the future. 8 pts (4 ea.)

Remember, there will be a total of at least 6 paragraphs for one extra credit assignment ( two articles)-24 pts.

Each set of three paragraphs are to be written in YOUR OWN WORDS. Do not copy someone else's work.

Assignments that do not meet requirements can be re-submitted. To be on the safe side, turn in assignments four weeks before the end of the quarter.

To receive a grade lower than a "C", a student must make a conscious decision to NOT do a significant portion of the work.
