Attention all Students, Parents, and Guardians:
Students on the 7th Grade Leadership Committee and their peers met on January
22nd and 23rd to discuss raising expectations for students to participate in
our Academy Reward Days for 3rd Quarter. Here is what was decided:
-- Students need a 70% Classwork Average and a 70% Homework Average in all
academic classes to attend the Reward Days planned every three weeks
-- Studens will continue turning in paw slips and meeting the Academy
expectations in terms of behavior as well. (See "Consequences" below)
Rewards and Consequences:
Students will receive two paw slips for every assignment turned in with their
Green Homework Folder.
Paw Slips will be collected and used to purchase an activity of choice for
Reward Day once every two weeks.
Students wearing the Academy T-shirt will be receive a reward every first day
of the week.
Star Awards will be given for students to place in the Seventh Grade hallway
to recognize A's and B's earned on assignments. When landmarks are reached
along the hallway a celebration will be held for the whole grade.
Students on -time and in line for class will be recognized. If a student is
late he/she must have a pass. If late to class the student will have to serve
a lunch detention.
Consequences
Lunch Detention is a silent class period for students to reflect on their
choices. Each individual will fill out a reflection form after eating their
lunch.
If Lunch Detention is NOT attended or served properly the student will have
Detention the next following day. Failure to show at an assigned Lunch
Detention will result in loss of Reward Day and a Yellow-Slip
Two Lunch detentions in a three week period will result in a Yellow-Slip and
home notification
An Office Referral and Teacher-Student-Parent Intervention will take place if
a problem persists.
Unity Circle Celebration
The first day of every week, Seventh Graders will gather in the cafeteria for
ten minutes to celebrate achievement and progress with the REACH Values.
T-shirts are to be worn on this day to visibly show solidarity and commitment
to improving our school community.
