I have been a member of the Dunloggin family for 13 years. I hold a master's
degree in Gifted Education from Johns Hopkins University. Prior to working in
middle school, I was an elementary teacher with experience in kindergarten,
second grade, third grade, and sixth grade. My personal goal is to provide a
service to our students and their families which ensures a rich and advanced
opportunity to excel.
In Howard County and at Dunloggin Middle School we strive to provide your
child with the best education possible by developing their individual
capabilites. We feel that the many choices we offer will achieve our goal.
Our Gifted and Talented program which is accelerated and enriched is quite
unique in that, it features many opportunities for your child to participate.
Our highly structured classes allow the student the means of unlimited
exploration. We encourage the student who participates in gifted classes to
use high level divergent thinking skills, be motivated to work and use
abstract reasoning. We offer the opportunity to conduct independent
investigations on topics of interest and become the acting professional.
Our teachers differentiate their curriculum in many ways to meet the needs
of their students. Differentiation includes: content that is related to
broad-based issues, themes, or problems: in-depth learning of self-selected
topics within the area of study; encourage the development of products that
challenge exisitng ideas and produce "new" ideas, new techniques, materials,
and forms; focus on open-ended tasks, and develop research skills and methods.

Dunloggin Middle School has to offer.
