I have been teaching for 34 years. For the past 23 years, I have been at
Ellicott Mills Middle as Social Studies Instructional Team Leader. I am the Historian for
the Howard County Council for the Social Studies. I serve on the Executive Board for the MD Council for
the Social Studies, and I am a member of the National Council for the Social Studies. In addition, I serve
on the following boards- Howard County Social Studies Advisory Board and Howard County Student
Service Advisory Board
My class is based on the following three premises:
1. All students can learn.
2. Students have different learning styles.
3. Cooperative interaction increases learning and improves social
skills.
