Monday May 12
Grades are current as of today. They may vary slightly from the grades I submitted for
Interim reports on Thursday afternoon due to a few added grades. Remember that
"L"ate or "ab"sent assginments can still be turned in for some or all credit.
PreAlgebra classes will have a quiz next week on solving equations
(Monday E-block, Tuesday B-block).
Friday May 2
This week's quiz scores were not what I would have hoped for (class averages of 65% and 71%).
I am offering both classes the opportunity to retake a similar version of this quiz and I will
AVERAGE the TWO SCORES. E-block got the quiz back today and will be able to re-take on
Monday. B-block will get their quizzes back on Monday and will be able to re-take on Tuesday.
If a student chooses to re-take the quiz, the scores will be averaged regardless of whether or
not the second score is better so be sure they study. (most errors were due to careless mistakes).
Monday April 28
Grades are current as of today. Interim grades will be coming in about 2 weeks.
Please check for blank scores, ab, or ng scores. These can all be turned in by the
end of this week for full credit. Late scores "L", continue to drop one letter grade
per class period that the assignment is late. Have your child follow up with me on these items.
Reminder that there is a quiz this week - E-Block on Wednesday and B-Block on Thursday
Monday April 7
I have posted Quarter 3 final grades. Please access from the "Grades" page, using your
child's last name and the password you have provided.
Friday March 28
Just a reminder that the Math MSA is on Tuesday and Wednesday (April 1 & 2).
Please be sure your child gets a good night's rest, eats a good breakfast to sustain
them through the two+ hours of testing and gets to school on time.
March 11, 2008
There will be a quiz Thursday (E) or Friday (B) on surface area and volume.
Under the Uploaded Documents, above, are copies of the MSMI quarterly reviews
(answer keys included). These are useful in reviewing for the Math MSA on
April 1st and 2nd. We will spend class time reviewing SOME concepts not regularly
used in MSMII and PreAlgebra. Remember, the MSA is assessing skills taught in
MSMI (taught in the GT sequence in 4th and 5th grade).
March 3, 2008
Sorry for not having these up on Friday but I was out. Grades are current through today,
excluding this week's quiz. Be aware that this score may not match the score on the progress
report. The progress report grade was submitted Wednesday, 2/27. Some new grades and
many make-up assignments have been added to my grade book since then.
Missing classwork can still be submitted for some late credit. If your child has a "L" for any
classwork assignment, it should be turned in ASAP. Also, any RECENT "ab" assignments (CW or HW)
can still be turned in for full credit.

Quarter 2 grades have been uploaded. They are current as of today.
Please remind your child to maintain their math grade sheet in their data
binder. These grades on my website are only uploaded periodically. I
would like them to be responsible for being able to calculate their grade
at any time from their own grade sheet. They are reminded daily to enter
grades as they get them (daily homework, class work grades and test
or quiz grades).
Nov 29
Linear Equations Quiz on Tuesday (E-block) and Wednesday (B-block)

Nov 8
FINAL Quarter 1 grades have been uploaded. Help your child compare these to their blue
math grade sheet and strategize as to how to better keep track of grades this quarter on
the new yellow math grade sheet.
Conferences - please be aware that while I teach about 140 students, I only have about
33 conference time slots. Feel free to communicate with me at any time but if your child
is doing well in math, try to leave those times open for parents of students who need to
develop strategies for improvement.
Thank You!!
