We have just started the novel "The Time Machine." The students
will have independent reading to do at home, and quizzes on their
readings. We will also have many discussions and in-class activities
surrounding the book, and we will culminate with an essay and creative
project. Please encourage your child to complete the assigned readings
carefully and thoughtfully, as the novel does have some new vocabulary
words.
Assessment dates for quarter one are posted in the homework section.
To be successful this year it is important for each student to work to his or her potential, complete assignments fully and on time, and participate actively and appropriately in class. Please see the syllabus for the complete classroom guidelines and expectations. If at any time you, as a student or parent, have questions, concerns, or need any type of help on the work being done in English, please feel more than welcome to contact me. I am happy to help and here to do so in order to ensure a successful year for all.
Please make sure to bring all supplies and homework to class each day. This includes paper for daily assignments and activities in class, and multiple writing utensils.
