How can I have my child tested for the GT program at FQMS?

Current students can be nominated for testing once a year in February for GT
placement for the following
school year. The students can be nominated for testing by either parents or
teachers.
If your child is nominated for testing by a teacher, you will be contacted
and asked for
permission for testing. The exact details about deadlines and testing dates
are
published in the school newsletter and in the electronic newsletter each
year.

What if my child is new to Howard County schools?

Students new to our system who transfer in at the beginning of the school
year will
have the opportunity to be tested right away. For students who come to us
after the
school year has begun, we will make special testing arrangements.
