Welcome to Mrs. Soule's 8th grade reading class!
I am looking forward to a great year! It will be full of challenging, but interesting activities
that will expand the students' understanding and ability in reading. We will work on strategies for
reading Social Studies texts and effective note-taking. We will also read novels and short stories,
and work on reading strategies, vocabulary, and BCR writing.
To ensure a successful year, it is important that every student is prepared each day. This means
having his or her supplies and homework, as well as coming to school mentally prepared to
participate in a positive way each day.
It is also important that the students understand the clear consequences that have been explained,
in the unfortunate event that they do not come to class prepared and follow the expectations set for
them.
I look forward to working with all of you, and having a very successful year!
