11 Honors: Studens are currently working on identifying the characteristics
of a Hemingway Hero. We recently read Hemingway's short story, The Short
Happy Life of Francis Macomber, and are analyzing & discussing it. Students
received a novella, The Old Man and the Sea, that they should be reading at
home. Students have just finished their creative writing unit and will
be "critiquing" peers' writing in an effort to help their peers make
improvements and/or revisions. The culminating activity for the creative
writing unit will be a revision of students' college essays.
