Updated Process for Transcript and
Recommendation Requests
The
Guidance Department will use an updated procedure for students applying to
colleges in 08-09. Each 11th grade student received a packet of
instructions for requesting letters of recommendation and transcripts before
summer break. Counselors will present the information again at the beginning
of senior year. The new packets can be viewed and downloaded from the Howard
High Guidance website. Please review the instructions with your child and
begin to develop a calendar of deadlines and dates for the college application
process.
It
is important to note that teachers must have at least 30 school days to
complete letters of recommendation and that our Registrar’s office must have
at least 15 school days for processing transcript packets. If you have
