Course Registration '08-'09

The Elective Fair was a successful event that took place in January. Students had the opportunity to visit tables on display from all the departments that featured our many electives. The students learned of the many electives offered at HHS and teachers and current students answered any questions.

2008-2009 Registration for Classes

Hard to believe that it is time for our students to begin selecting classes for the ’08-’09 school year! The process will began this month, January, with 9th grade incoming parent night, Guidance Lessons in the classroom, an Elective Fair held during lunch over 3-days and a Parent Night for our current students.

TIMELINE:

  • Jan. 22-25th Guidance Lessons will be conducted in the classroom. Title of lesson "The Lion's Guide to Course Registration '08-'09. The ppt. presented will be available January 25th.

  • Jan. 24th Parent Night,6:00-6:45pm - AP Gallery Walk in the Atrium. 7:00pm - Course Registration presentation in the Auditorium
  • Jan. 29-31st Elective Fair will be held during all lunches

  • On February 1st the course registration form will be due to your child’s English teacher. Please be sure to use The Catalog of Approved High School Courses to review course selections for the upcoming school year. Please note course descriptions and prerequisites. Each student was given a copy of the catalog when the course registration forms were distributed.

ALTERNATE CLASSES, SCHEDULE CHANGES & COURSE RECOMMENDATIONS:

  • Please note that seven credits must be requested on the course reg. form this applies to upcoming seniors as well. In addition, students must list 3 courses to be used as alternates in case an elective chosen is not available or there is a scheduling conflict. ***PLEASE be sure that your child selects 3 alternates that they are very much interested in taking. There is always a chance that we will look to their alternates if there is a conflict with their first seven choices. ***WE WILL NOT MAKE SCHEDULE CHANGES BECAUSE A STUDENT DOES NOT WANT TO TAKE ONE OF THEIR ALTERNATES.

  • Concerns about a course recommendation? Please contact your child’s School Counselor to proceed with a course placement review. This process must be completed by March 31st.
