Course Registration 09-10

2009-2010 Registration Kick-Off!

Hard to believe that our students are selecting courses for the ’09-‘00 school year! The process began in December before the holiday break with guidance lessons “The Lion’s Guide to Course Registration”, the 9th grade incoming parent night in January and a Parent Night for our current students. In addition, an Elective Fair was held during lunch over 2-days during all lunches. Counselors will meet with all students to review their course registration form in February.

• On January 30th the course registration form will be due to your child’s English teacher. Please be sure to use The Catalog of Approved High School Courses to review course selections for the upcoming school year. Please note course descriptions and prerequisites. Each student was given a copy of the catalog when the course registration forms were distributed.

• Please note that seven credits must be requested on the course registration form; this applies to upcoming seniors as well. In addition, students must list 3 courses to be used as alternates in case an elective chosen is not available or there is a scheduling conflict. PLEASE be sure that your child selects 3 alternates that they would seriously like to take. There is a chance that we will look to their alternates if there is a conflict!

• Concerns about a course recommendation? Please contact your child’s school counselor to proceed with a course placement review. This process must be completed by March 31st.
