Course Registration Information

2010-2011 Registration Kick-Off!

Hard to believe that our students are selecting courses for the '10-'11 school year! The process began in December before the holiday break with guidance lessons “The Lion’s Guide to Course Registration”. Ms. Grieve will present to current 9th grade students the first week in January.

All parents are invited to attend our Lions' Night: Essential Academic Planning event.

Thursday, January 6th:

Lions' Night: Essential Academic Planning

Incoming students:

5:00 - 5:30pm   Gallery Walk (cafeteria)

5:45 - 7:00pm   Program min Auditorium

Current students:

6:00 - 7:00pm  Gallery Walk (cafeteria)

7:10 - 7:20pm  Ms. Massella Welcome/Remarks

7:25 - 8:15pm  Break-out groups by grade level

An Elective Fair will be held during lunch shifts in the atrium, on January  26th and 27th.

Counselors will meet with all students to review their course registration form in February.

  • January 25th- Students will receive a Course Catalog and Course Registration form in their homeroom.
  • January 26th & 27th- Teachers will make course recommendations
  • January 28th-  Course Registration form due to your child’s English teacher. Please be sure to use The Catalog of Approved High School Courses to review course selections for the upcoming school year. Please note course descriptions and prerequisites.
Please note that seven credits must be requested on the course registration form; this applies to upcoming seniors as well.

In addition, students must list 3 courses to be used as alternates in case an elective chosen is not available or there is a scheduling conflict. PLEASE be sure that your child selects 3 alternates that they would seriously like to take. There is a chance that we will look to their alternates if there is a conflict!

Concerns about a course recommendation? Please contact your child’s school counselor to proceed with a course placement review. This process must be completed by March 31st.
