All: Compare/contrast essay, analyzing similarities and differences in
archetypes and romantic elements in 2 short romantic tales that we've read and
discussed in class.
Students have been given copies of the stories they've chosen, a venn diagram
and a rubric.
Essay must be typed in 12 or 14 point font.

Compare/Contrast Essay:
Introduction: explain romance genre, introduce stories 10 points
Body - 3 paragraph minimum 20 points
Discuss details in terms of elements, archetypes 25 points
Correct grammar/structure 20 points
Spelling 10 points
Specific details explained clearly 15 points
Conclusion - general; 4 sentences minimum 10 points
TOTAL: 125 points
