Mission
The Reading Acceleration Program is designed to offer small group and individualized instruction in reading decoding and comprehension. The goal is to provide students with skills, strategies, and techniques that will enable them to be more successful in high school and beyond. The HSA Mastery course is an elective semester course for students who failed the English HSA. This course fulfills the requirement for appropriate assistance to English HSA non-masters. Students take the english HSA during the administration closest to the end of the course in October 2008, and January 2009. The SAT Prep course is an elective semester course for students whose goals are to develop writing, critical reading and critical thinking skills in order to improve their score on the SAT's or to gain skills required to become proficient.
