About The Teacher
"And what rough beast, its hour come 'round at last, slouches toward Bethlehem to be born?"- W.B. Yeats Thomas P. Knox is a graduate of Towson State College, where he took a Bachelor of Science degree with majors in English and Secondary Education. After one year of teaching 8th grade English at Cockeysville Jr/Sr High, he was recruited by his alma mater to teach Freshman Writing and to tutor minority students. During his time at Towson, Knox took a Juris Doctor degree at the University of Maryland School of Law, giving him a strong academic background for his professional duties. At Towson he served in a variety of teaching/quasi-judicial/administrative posts(Assistant Professor of English, Associate Dean of Students, Judicial Affairs Officer, Acting VP for Student Affairs) before leaving in 1987 to return to his true love, teaching high school English. Knox has taught at Howard High since, and currently teaches English 12 and 12APGT while serving his Department as the Instructional Team Leader. His adult son and daughter, still required to refer to him as "Dean Knox," live in Clearwater, Florida and Pompano Beach, Florida, respectively. Paul loves fishing and entertaining his daughter, Ryann; Kelly enjoys Ravens football and classic movies. They are, of course, ideal offspring. Knox's motto: Familiarity Breeds Contempt.
