AP Science

Course: AP Biology

Grades: 11,12

Prerequisites: grade of B or better in Biology; completion of Chemistry

This course builds on the foundations of Biology and is designed to be the equivalent of a college-level introductory biology course. The course covers three general areas: molecules and cells, genetics and evolution, and organisms and populations. Descriptive and experimental laboratory investigations will emphasize detailed observation, data recording, data interpretation, and statistical analysis. Students enrolled in the course are expected to take the Advanced Placement examination in Biology.
