I was born in Huntsville, AL, but grew up mostly in Stafford, VA. I earned
a B.S. in Mathematics at Longwood College in Farmville, VA and a M.S. in
Strategic Intelligence at the Joint Military Intelligence College in
Washington, DC. While at Longwood I played varsity golf and served as the
Cadet Battalion Commander of the school's Army Reserve Officer Training
Corps detachment. I accepted a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the
Active Army, and served for almost 15 years in numerous locations throughout
the world including Colorado, Arizona, Republic of Korea, Japan, and
California. While on active duty I commanded a Counterintelligence Company
of over 50 soldiers and Korean civilian employees in the Republic of Korea.
I taught Basic Leadership to freshmen at the University of Southern
California. Additionally, I was a member of the All-Army Golf Team and
captured the title of Army Women's Champion eight years, and the Armed
Forces title six years. After leaving active duty I served 5 1/2 years in
the Virginia Army National Guard. I retired from military service as a
Lieutenant Colonel in August 2007.
I live at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, and enjoy spending
time with my United States Marine Corps husband of nine years, Bob, and two
children, Connie (daughter, 7) and Taylor (son, 6). I also try to play golf
as much as possible, and still relish the opportunity to play
competitively.
I am excited to be at Indian Creek School. I love the caring and friendly
environment, and especially the opportunity to be working with such great
kids!
