I have been an educator for 35 years. This is my fourth year at Indian Creek
School. I spent 12 years at Gibson Island Country School, where I
taught first grade then fifth grade. I then became the Academic Dean and my
last position was Director of Admissions and Development. During my long
career I have had the opportunity to teach all grades 1-8, P.E., Art, and
middle school special education. I have had a very diverse teaching career.
I grew up in Queens, New York. I originally came to Maryland to attend
Morgan State College, and stayed in Maryland where I began teaching at
Pleasant Plains Elementary School in Baltimore County and attended Johns
Hopkins University where I did my graduate work. I returned to Westbury, New
York in 1979 and worked at Westbury Friends School and Nassau Lutheran
School. Upon returning to Maryland I worked in 2 Anne Arundel County middle
schools before going to Gibson Island Country School.
I presently live in Pasadena with my husband, Leroy, my son, Erik (ICS Class
of 2002, and my grandson, Keion (ICS Class of 2014). Erik is a junior at
the University of Maryland, College Park and Keion is a 7th grader here at
Indian Creek.
