Algebra IA

 

The course will cover the first half of Algebra 1 including the following topics

 

• The Language of Algebra
• Integers
• Addition and Subtraction Equations
• Multiplication and Division Equations
• Proportional Reasoning and Probability
• Functions and Graphs
• Linear Equations
• Powers and Roots

 

 

The course will provide a strong foundation in the fundamentals of algebra and prepare the student for Algebra 1B The course text Algebra Concepts and Applications will  be supplemented by handouts of additional instructional materials, problems and exercises. Mathematical vocabulary will be reviewed and reinforced for each topic area.  Emphasis will be placed on practical approaches to problem solving.
