Drawing and Printmaking is a course designed to improve students’ drawing
and design skills while focusing on the elements and principles of design.
Drawing techniques and skills will be utilized during the printmaking
process. Students will study various artists and styles of printmaking
including monotypes, linoleum prints, and silkscreen prints.
Ceramics and Sculpture is an introduction to three-dimensionality. Students
will become familiar with a variety of clay hand-forming techniques through
projects that focus on the creation of utilitarian ware such as pinch pots,
coil pots, and slab pots. During the course, students will also explore
aspects of sculpture including subtractive and additive sculpture, plaster,
wire armature, Paper Mache.
