Extra CreditPlease see the FAQ section for complete information on how the extra credit will be graded. 6th Grade Guidelines are first Please scroll down for the 7th grade reading guidelines 6th grade: Up to four (4) reports can be done each quarter. They will be kept so that repeats do not occur. They may be turned in one at a time. They may be turned in all at once. They MUST be turned in by the LAST DAY OF THE QUARTER to be considered for credit. These are the guidelines for doing an extra credit research report on one of the Hundred Famous People. Your extra credit report MUST include all of the following items: 1st Paragraph: Where and when was the person born? Where and when did the person die? (or are they still living? Where are they living?) 2nd Paragraph: What were the early years/childhood like? What information is there on his/her family? 3rd Paragraph: What kind of schooling and education did the person receive? (Please note any and all kinds of schooling: public, private, college, special - such as musical, artistic, military, and so on.) 4th Paragraph: What are the interesting/important things about this person's life? What are his/her most outstanding accomplishments? 7th grade: Up to five (5) reports may be done per quarter at (+2) points added to the grade. Reports will be kept to avoid duplications. They may be turned in one at a time. They may be turned in together. They MUST be turned in before the LAST DAY OF THE QUARTER for full credit consideration. These are the guidelines for doing an extra credit research report on one of the Hundred Famous People.Your extra credit report MUST include all of the following items: 1st paragraph: Backround information on when and where the person was born; family history; childhood information; details on his/her education (private, public, military, artistic, and so on). 2nd paragraph: If the person is still alive: Where do they live now? What are they currently famous for? With whom is s/he often compared (who are his/her peers in this field)? Why? If this person is not living: Where is s/he buried? What made them famous when they were alive? Who were his/her peers when they were alive? Why? 3rd paragraph: Detail and explain several notable accomplishments of this person for me. What are several of the things they have done to become famous. Detail this person's career for me. 4th paragraph: Why have you chosen this person to write about? What qualities does this person exhibit/show that draw you to this person? Is this someone that you want to be like? Why? How has this person impacted your life? 5th paragraph: If you could meet this person, what would you like to learn from this person? What would you talk about? What would you ask about? How could this person help you to improve or enrich your life? NOTE: To receive full credit, the folowing items MUST also be done: 1. 6th grade: All paragraphs MUST BE at least 2 sentences long. 7th grade: MUST BE at least 5 sentences. 2. A graphic organizer MUST BE turned in with the report (outline, fishbone, spider web, balloons, etc.) 3. A pre-write/draft with edits CLEARLY MARKED on it MUST be turned in with the final report. 4. On the final report, you MUST include the source(s) of your information. ***All of this is also available in my room on a sheet of paper, or you may use this site to gude your writing.*** The following is the list of One Hundred Famous People.
