Mr. Courtney has been an English teacher in Howard County for the past
sixteen years. He worked ten years at Mount View Middle school. This
will be his sixth year teaching 9th grade.
Mr. Courtney has a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Loyola
College in MD. and a Bachelors Degree in English and Geography from the
University of Delaware.
Mr. Courtney is married and has three children. His wife's name is Barbara,
and his son is Kyle, his two daughters are named Madeline and Sarah.
Mr. Courtney has many interests, which include reading, writing, cooking,
eating and sports.
The class needs to be organized and friendly, so that when students enter
the class they feel welcome and comfortable and are excited to learn. My
mission this year is to create a learning environment with clear and precise
goals and by being a teacher who is approachable, friendly, understanding
and knowledgeable.
