This course seeks to develop vocal skills through the practice and performance of repertoire written for a mixed vocal ensemble with instrumental accompaniment. Popular music and memorable pieces for a variety of musical styles are used to refine vocal technique, expand vocal range, and increase pitch awareness. Students will gain a deeper insight into the role of a performer from the perspective of an ensemble member and soloist. Strong emphasis is placed on the improvement of score reading, stage presence, poise and execution. Increased development of vocal skills and music appreciation are reached through solo and ensemble work!
