Lower School students begin their exciting adventure of learning Spanish in 
Kindergarten and continue the journey through Grade 4 by following a built-
up curriculum which is reviewed and expanded year by year.   

Using the latest in foreign language teaching methods, the students will 
learn elemental vocabulary and phrases to participate in brief conversations 
about familiar topics.
Our students will also be exposed to cultural aspects that will help them 
acquire a basic understanding of the Spanish-speaking world.

The classes are run mostly in Spanish and the students are active 
participants in the learning process.

KINDERGARTEN through GRADE TWO: Students attend class once a week.

CURRICULUM TOPICS:

	¡Hola Amigos! - Greeting and farewells. Asking “what’s your name?” 
and “how are you?” and responding accordingly.
	Los Colores- Colors
	¡Vamos a contar! - Let’s count! Numbers 1 to 10; (Grade 1: Numbers 1 
to 20; Grade 2: Numbers 1 to 30)
	La Familia- Family members
	Los Animales- Animals
	Vamos a comer!- Let’s eat!
	Canciones Tradicionales- Traditional Songs: Feliz Cumpleaños- Happy 
Birthday; Buenos Días/ Buenas tardes- Good Morning/Good Afternoon; De 
Colores- Of Colors; Diez Amigos- Ten Friends; La Lechuza- The Owl; Canción 
de Animales- Animals Song; La Cucaracha- The Cockroach.
