Dear Parents,
Welcome to Third Grade! We anticipate a wonderful year full of
discovery, creativity and an abundance of learning.
There are a few important folders that will be coming home on a
weekly basis. On Thursdays, your child will be bringing home a folder which
will contain pertinent information for you. Please sign and return the
folder the following day. On Friday, your child will be bringing home
his/her class work. This is an opportunity to review weekly lessons and see
what we are doing in class. Please sign and return the folder on the
following Monday. Please feel free to write comments or concerns.
The children have two break times. The first morning break is from
9:45 to 10:00. This is an ideal time for your child to have a nutritious
snack. Our second break is in the afternoon from 1:40 to 1:50.
Homework will be given Monday through Thursday. On a daily basis,
your child may have assignments in math, reading and/or spelling. In
addition, the students will be asked to read nightly for twenty minutes.
This can be done independently, a listening tape with book or with an adult.
The homework assignment book is checked daily. Please sign the assignment
page after the homework is completed.
