Course: Sixth Grade Chorus
Teacher: Mr. Mugione

Students enrolled in the Sixth Grade Chorus will continue to improve their
vocal and aural ability through singing unison, two and three-part songs.
Students’ aural skills will also be enhanced by reviewing and singing
solfége syllables with Curwen Hand Signs. Along with learning to sing in a
foreign language, Sixth Grade Chorus students continue to learn and improve
the vocal “mechanics” that produce pure tones and work on vowel placement to
ensure a proper singing technique. Sight-singing skills will also be
introduced to the singers through flashcard notation and resource books.
Rehearsals will often consist of vocal/body warm-ups, singing choral
repertoire, and musicianship-building activities. Each Sixth Grade homeroom
attends rehearsal once a week for forty minutes.
