Speech-Language Screening
•Coordinate & supervise administration of "Fluharty-2 Preschool Speech &
Language Screening Test" to new students younger than 7 years in Lower School
•Coordinate & supervise administration of "Clinical Evaluation of Language
Fundamentals-4 Screening Test" to new students 7 years and older in Lower
and Middle Schools, and all returning students in Grade 3
•Interpret results of all speech-language screenings and share results with
faculty, staff and families
•Make recommendations for students based on speech-language screening results
Teacher outreach and resources
•Provide teaching materials, strategies, tools to faculty members
•Collaborate with teachers on effective strategies to use with students
Parent outreach and support services
•Act as liaison/facilitator with parents, outside speech-language
pathologists, and faculty on student programs and assessments
Individualized student programs
•Co-teach Phonological Awareness program in Kindergarten
•Provide Phono-Graphix® and other phonologically-based interventions to
small groups, as needed
•Co-lead Pragmatic language groups in all grades
•Help to facilitate pro-social, community-building language and
relationships in Lower School
•Additionally, Ms. Goldschmidt will provide individual and small group
speech-language therapy for an additional fee to McLean
Administrative outreach and support
•Observe and assess students, as referred
•Review and interpret testing of incoming students
Outside provider services
•Support policies and procedures regarding provision of outside speech-
language services
•Make recommendations to parents for outside speech-language services
•Refer students to outside speech-language pathologists
