We ask that all parents send in a check to Millersville Elementary cafeteria so that your child has money for lunch whenever needed. Sometimes lunches are forgotten on the bus or squished on the way to school. This will alleviate a lot of unnecessary anxiety. A letter or phone call will be made when the money on the card is low. A clothespin with your child's student number is used to debit the money. This has been very successful for kindergarten students. They do not need to remember the student id number but many do on their own. This number will stay the same as long as they are in Anne Arundel County.
When packing your child's lunch please be sure to remember they are small and lunch is short. Please try to pack things they can open on their own. Try to pack foods easy to eat, healthy, and energizing for the afternoon ahead. If you pack a juice box or fruit cup, teach your child how to open it and have them practice at home.
We also have fresh fruit snack everyday in the afternoon. Please send in a clean and ready to eat piece of fruit for your child to eat as a snack in the afternoon.
