8th Grade Homeroom Announcements1st period begins at 8:15, so be on time for school.
Homeroom is from 9:00 -9:15.
8th Graders are to bring their Home Communication Envelope back every Monday with notices removed by parents and with signed papers returned inside the envelope.
Individual SCHOOL PICTURES were taken on Thursday, October 15th for Middle and High School. The proofs were sent home on Friday, October 23rd. Please return the envelope with your order or return the envelope and ask for a re-take.
RE-TAKES will be on Tuesday, November 10th. Please return the original proof envelope.
Quarter 1 ends on Tuesday, November 3rd. Reports cards will be coming home on Wednesday, November 11th. Please sign and return the tan envelope to the homeroom teacher.
School will closed for students on Thursday and Fiday, November 5 and 6 for teacher convention in Lancaster, PA.
Grandparents Day is coming. It will be on Tuesday, November 24th.
School will be closed for Thanksgiving on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, November 25, 26, 27.
Operation Christmas Child pamphlets came home Friday. Please have your child donate two (2) $1 items from the dollar store to place in our shoe boxes. Girls are to bring items for a girl - (ages 10 - 13) and boys are to bring items for a boy (ages 10 - 13). ITEMS CAN INCLUDE: gum, mints, wrapped hard candy, school supplies, pencils, sharpeners, erasers,
crayons, coloring books, pads of paper, colored pencils, combs, brushes, scrunchies, hair clips, bar soap, wash cloth, toothbrush, toothpaste, socks, gloves, hats, rubber balls, toy cars, flashlights and batteries, calculators(solar), etc. NO toy guns, toy knives,no war toys like tanks or soldiers, no razor blades, no shampoo, lotion, perishible food (cookies), bubbles, or anything that could break, leak or spill. - Mrs. Barrett and Mr. McIntyre will donate the $7 shipping for each box our class fills.
* * * * Girls have been asked to wear proper shoes and socks to school. No more excuses. See dress code in school handbook. * * * Middle school can still wear tennis shoes. WHITE socks or NAVY blue socks only.
*** Cold weather is coming. Students can wear a solid Navy blue sweater or the Open Bible crew neck sweatshirt if they are cold.
GIRLS must wear the uniform skirt on Monday and Tuesday, every week.
BOYS MUST WEAR A SOLID BLACK OR BROWN BELT.
Chapel dress for all high school students - (shirts and ties for the guys, skirts and blouses for the ladies). Bring your Bibles to chapel. (High School)
Uniform dress code for high school - Oxford shirts for the guys all 5 days (except Friday if you purchase the new OBCA navy blue golf shirt. You may wear that on Fridays with tan khakis and school shoes. Ladies are to wear uniform skirts and blouses on Mondays and Tuesdays, and may wear tan khaki slacks with a belt on Wednesday through Friday, but you can wear your skirt if you do not want to wear slacks. Ladies may also wear the new OBCA navy blue golf shirt on Fridays with tan khaki slacks and a belt, or a tan skirt. All high school students must wear a brown or black solid color belt in all slacks. All shoes are to be solid color black or brown dress or dressy casual shoes. All shirts are to be tucked in at all times.
Locker usage for high school - enter building at 8 AM, go to locker and get books for period 1 and go to period 1 (period 1 begins promptly at 8:15). Go to homeroom at 9 AM and go to lockers after homeroom, get books for periods 2 and 3. Go to lockers after period 3 and get books for periods 4 and 5. Go to locker after period 5 and go to lunch. go to lockers after lunch and get books for periods 6 and 7 and electives.
HIGH SCHOOL HAS LOCKER USAGE AFTER PERIODS 1, 3, AND 5 BECAUSE THEY HAVE UPPER LOCKERS. PLEASE BE COURTEOUS OF MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS WHO HAVE LOWER LOCKERS AND MUST USE THEM AFTER PERIODS 2, 4 , AND 6. WE DO NOT WANT ANY HEAD INJURIES.
