Learning Log Entries

Complete the following entries in your learning log journal. Label each entry as indicated. Entries will be evaluated.

Entry 1 - Use your prior knowledge and experience to...

A. Describe the experiences you have had on roller coaster rides at amusement parks. B. Describe the forces and motion you experience while on these rides.

Entry 2 -

A. Click on the roller coaster icon above and view the DiscoverySchool.com "RealOne" player movie clip. You must have "RealOne" installed to view clip. Wait for download. Click the “x” when clip is done to close it.

Think about the science of roller coasters and how you experience this science while riding one. Record your roller coaster “science” experience in your journal.

B. Record the words below. You will see them as you read articles. Knowing what they mean will help you better understand what you read.

Click on the blue/purple word “vocabulary” below to view the glossary. Instead of just writing definitions, re-state the definition for each word into a 1-8 word meaning that shows evidence of your comprehension. You may also chose to draw a picture representing each meaning.

After using the glossary, click the back arrow on the glossary page tool bar to return to this page.

Entry 3 -

Go on and complete all activities for your individual role and as a team. (The entire WebQuest) Your final journal entry will be a brief summary of your learning experience. Your summary may include responses to the following: What did you learn? What did you like most? Least? How did the team work together? If you could change anything about this activity, what would it be?
