How is the agenda book used?
Students write their homework in the agenda book daily. Students
will receive
a list of spelling words that should be written in their agenda
book. The
teacher and the parent also use it as a means of communication.
The parent
should sign the agenda book daily. Agenda books are needed in
class on a
daily basis.
Spelling tests were on Fridays, now they are on different days, why?
Tests will be given every six school days. When there are days
that schools
are closed or county testing, this changes the day that spelling
tests are
given. Check your child's agenda book for the list of spelling
words and
the test date.
We have misplaced the booklog what should we do?
You can download a copy of the booklog from this website. Go to
the
homework section. You can also write it on a piece of paper. Be
sure to
include the date, name of the book, author, rating of the book,
and
parent/guardian signature.
How are spelling lists assigned?
There are two separate spelling tests given on every sixth day of
school.
After the spelling test is given, students are given a pretest of
new
spelling words. The pretest is used to determine if a child will
receive list
A or list B.
What are Spelling lists A and Spelling lists B?
Students who have difficulty with the words on the pretest will
receive list
A. If the pretest words are not challenging, those students will
receive list
B. Both lists follow the same spelling rule, but list B has more
challenging
words. Spelling lists can be downloaded from the website.
How do I find out if my child needs money for their lunch account?
Please check directly with the cafeteria. Teachers do not have
access to any
information regarding your child's lunch account (pin numbers or
account
balances).
How do I find out when tests are given?
Newsletters are sent home each Monday. Check the newsletter and
agenda book
for upcoming test dates.
What do the checks on homework assignments mean?
a check plus means a grade of 'A'
a check (no plus or minus) means a grade of 'B'
a check minus means a grade of 'D'
