Ask the Librarian
WHEN DO STUDENTS VISIT THE LIBRARY? The library media center works on a semi-flexible schedule. There is open check out and open access. The LMC is open for individuals and small groups to find books or other resources, use computers and reference materials, research and work on independent projects, or use the LMC as needs arise in the classroom. WHAT IS THE CIRCULATION POLICY? Books may be checked out for one or two weeks. Students in preschool, kindergarten and grade one may check out one book at a time. Students in grades two and three may check out two books. Grades 4 and five may check out three books. Additional books may be checked out if needed for assignments. Students may renew books as needed unless the book has been placed on reserve. Reference books may be checked out overnight with the permission of the library media specialist or teacher. Students with overdue books will not be allowed further check out until overdue material is returned. CAN STUDENTS USE THE COMPUTERS? There are fifteen computers available for use in the LMC.
