Diet Related Diseases & Health Problems

An apple a day keeps the doctor away

DID YOU KNOW that today more children and teens are developing health problems that were usually only seen in the elderly?

DID YOU KNOW that nutrient deficiency (the lack of nutrients obtained from food) or excess can cause one to develop nutrient deficiency diseases that could lead to paralysis or possibly death? What about food allergies?

WANT TO KNOW MORE? Enter the world of diet and nutrition and learn baby learn!

Research shows that poor nutrition of a woman during pregnancy can harm the health of her grandchild. Diet related diseases can result from an excess or a deficiency of nutrients and heredity. What this means is your poor eating habits as a teen can not only harm you but can also harm your children and grandchildren. While completing the activities on this site you will gather information about a specific diet related disease or food allergies and organize your findings in the form of a newsletter, PowerPoint, brochure, or web page for presentation to your fellow classmates. The presentation must also include a summary of what each group member has learned and how they can apply this new knowledge to their every day life.
