I have been teaching at St. Bernadette for 23 years. I have been recognized
by the Veterans of Foreign Wars for excellence in citizenship education. For
this reason I remain very enthusiastic about my Social Studies Curriculum
which includes a detailed look at Maryland State History. I am looking
forward to using the information that I received at the "Responsive
Classroom" workshop to make my classroom a "respectful and Christian
environment" for all of your children. I look forward to working with all of
your children this year.
I was St. Bernadette's Teacher of the Year in 2007.
In my spare time, I bowl in a Duckpin Bowling League.
I am a registered Girl Scout and even though I am
taking a sabbatical from troop leadership this year;
I will be working with adult training issues and using my first
aid credentials at various girl events.
Even though I am not married, family is very important to me. Four of my five
siblings live in the area and I enjoy being "Aunt Ginny" to my 7 nephews and
2 nieces.
I am an active member of St. Bernard/Our Lady of Fatima in Riverdale where I
serve on the Liturgy Committee, lector, schedule and train
lectors, and am a Eucharistic Minister.
My hope is that every child will learn this year. Every child has a gift or a
talent to share. Every child will be respected in my classroom. My sincerest
desire is that with the full cooperation of the student, parent/guardian, and
myself that every child will do their very best. We will all grow together
and accomplish a well rounded fourth grade experience that promotes and
develops in everyone a love of learning.
