Homework

Kindergarten - Practice cutting and gluing with your parents help. Practice 
holding a pencil properly.  (Keep up the good work!  Practice makes perfect.)

First Grade - Students create seascapes in the style of Winslow Homer. 
Discuss your artwork with your parents.

Second Grade - Discuss the artist Van Gogh with your parents.  Have they 
heard of his "Sunflower" paintings?

Third Grade -  Keep your eyes open for landscape paintings.  

Fourth Grade -  Explore Maryland symbols. Research Maryland facts and share 
with your classmates.

Fifth Grade - "Me" collage presentations begin this week.  

Sixth Grade -  Sixth grade Tuesday art class needs to cut and bring in 3-5 
shapes cut from cereal box cardboard/regular cardboard - Due two weeks from 
October 20, 2009.  

Seventh Grade - Students research an artist in class and at home with 
parental assistance.  Students may bring in props for their art presentation 
for our next few classes - costumes, examples, masks, food items, etc. The 
information you gather will assist you in creating a Powerpoint presentation 
in technology class.  

Eighth Grade - Students research and artist in class and at home with 
parental permission.  Students will answer questions in class, create 
artwork, give a short show and share and use this information to design a 
Powerpoint presentation in tech class.

EIGHTH GRADE HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT DUE OCTOBER 20,2009

Every eighth grader is required to design a yearbook cover. Subject matter 
should be original, not copied, traced, or copyrighted. Any two dimensional 
medium, such as watercolors, crayons, or markers may be used.  Artwork must 
be in vertical format on 8 1/2 x 11 inch computer paper.  Please put effort 
into this assignment and create a unique design.  Perhaps your design will be 
on the 2010 St. Bernadette School yearbook cover!  

Due to a distribution problem, I have extended the assignment deadline until 
Tuesday, October 20th.  Thank you.
