Monday's Homework

November 2, 2009

Please remember that the Cumulative Vocabulary test for units 1-3 is on Wed.
Be sure to be able to use each word in a sentence of your own creation to
earn extra credit points.

Also be sure to finish the puzzle you received in class on Thursday so you
can turn that in to me on Wed. I will be collecting the seven run-on
sentences that were to be written correctly and were assigned last Thursday
tomorrow.

November 9, 2009

The test on "The Noble Experiment" is on Thursday. Be sure to reread the
story carefully each night, review the Pause and Reflect questions, and study
the vocabulary words on the separate sheet handed out before we read the
story. You may also want to begin the assignment on "courage" that was
handed out in class today. Remember to pick 6 of the 8 people to write about
to defend your opinion on whether or not you consider them to be courageous.
Finally, complete the following vocabulary exercises on pp. 54-55:
#1,4,5,7,8,11,12,17,19 & 20. Then, from the Synonyms and Antonyms section:
#3,5,8,9,11,12,14,15,18, and 20. We will check these exercises tomorrow.

November 16, 2009

We will correct the comma worksheet tomorrow and continue placing the comma
correctly in a variety of sentences in preparation for the QUIZ ON THURSDAY.
I also announced today that the UNIT 4 VOCABULARY TEST WILL BE ON FRIDAY.

November 23, 2009

The only homework this evening if for the students who got back their
literature test today WITHOUT A GRADE. They must rewrite or revise the essay
question(s) that were noted and TURN THE TEST BACK IN TO ME AT THE BEGINNING
OF CLASS TOMORROW in order to get credit for the rewrite.

Also, those of you whose names I called to make up a test or quiz should be
sure to report to my room at lunch tomorrow in order to have plenty of time
to complete the assessment.

November 30, 2009

Come with an example of a character whose decision impacted his life or the
life of others to discuss for the "Connect to Your Life" activity on p. 250
in the hardback text. Also, read Scene I from A CHRISTMAS CAROL. The
acrostic and character map from GROWING UP are due on Thursday, please
remember.
