About The Teacher

This is my 8th year at St. Bernadette School and my fifth in Kindergarten.
Since I was a child, I always wanted to be a teacher, and though it took me
many years to make that wish a reality I feel very blessed that God has
guided me to the place I am at now. I LOVE teaching, especially young
children, and am excited to come to school every day. It is an awesome
feeling to be able to make such a difference in the lives of children, and I
take that duty very seriously. It is so gratifying to see
lightbulbs "turning on" when children reach that "aha" moment, and also to
listen to the children talk about what they are learning. I also enjoy
learning from my students - something that happens each and every day.

I have been married to my husband Bill for 25 years; his love and support
have been instrumental in allowing me to do what I love every day. We have
three children - Billy (24), (Katie 22), and Kerry (14). Our other two
family members are a 4-year-old Labradoodle named Gipper and a 6-month-old
Goldendoodle named Bailey. I love dogs, which is why our class mascot is in
fact a dog. In my spare time, I love to read, I enjoy scrapbooking of family
photos and memorabilia, and I bowl in a duckpin bowling league with lots of
fun people (many of whom are teachers).

Mission For The Class

My goal for my classroom is to encourage the children to help me build an
environment where each child feels welcome and safe to take the risks
necessary to learn. I would like the children to understand that God has
given each of us special (and different) gifts and talents, and that we need
to respect each other's uniqueness because we are all God's children. I
hope to help each child grow spiritually, emotionally and socially, as well
as to prepare them academically for 1st grade.
