Dear 7th and 8th grade parents,
As promised we are sending you a letter explaining the format of the
research papers. All teachers involved have discussed and decided on this
format together.
8th grade:
◦ The paper must be 4 pages long, with a 5th page for Works Cited.
◦ The paper will be typed in Times New Roman, and be Double spaced.
◦The margins are to be the default margins. If you have any questions about
this, contact Mrs. Durfee or myself.
◦All paragraphs need to be indented.
◦Please make sure you have the St Jude Heading as well as a Title for your
paper that is 14 font, bold and Underlined.
◦If you want to include pictures, add the picture to a separate sheet, and
indicate who/what is in the picture and your source.
◦The Index cards are due on Tuesday Jan 15th. The index cards are just so
that we, the teachers, can ensure that the students are on the right track.
◦There needs to be a minimum of 5 index cards, or 1 per paragraph with the
main topic stated on each card with 3 supporting details on each card.
Works Cited:
3 websites from list provided by Mr. Mullenholz. (Also available on
the school website.)
2 Books
1 encyclopedia.
7th Grade:
The same as for the 8th grade EXCEPT, the paper is to be 3 pages.
