FAQFrequently Asked Questions: This page contains answers to common questions of students and parents.
Why do we have a Math notebook and not a binder? Mrs. K and I have decided that our math classes will keep a notebook and not a binder. We believe that this will be easier for you to keep track of your daily work and there will be a much less chance of loosing papers or throwing out papers too soon. In our notebook, we have the Students Prayer to Mary on the front cover and The First 100 days of math grid on the back cover. Each day will be clearly marked with the date in words, numbers, and Roman Numerals. How often will we get homework? Every night! (that is Mon. - Thursday) When we begin our Math 5- K training, the work is spread out over the entire week and therefore, you may have a few problems to do on the weekend. Parents, please check to see that your student is recording the assignment and doing it completely and neatly. What if I forget to write down the homework assignment in class? Check this web-site, it will be posted daily. What happens if I forget to do my homework? Any time this happens, I will send off a quick e-mail message to mom or dad letting them know that you did not do your homework the previous night. You will be responsible for completing the missed assignment and any new work that night! Also, you will get a RED TICKET and loose one of your number game cards on Friday. Do I need to have my tests and quizzes signed? Yes you do! When these are handed back, you are required to show them to mom or dad, have them sign it, and bring it back to class the next day. Again, if you fail to do this then a quick e-mail will go home to mom or dad. What happens if I forget to do my homework a few times each week? This would be a major problem and we would have to have a meeting with all of us, that is, Mrs. McAdorey, the student, and parent, to see if we can figure out why things are not gettting done on time. What if I am having trouble doing the math work? I can be available to give help prior to the start of school (7:30-7:50) any morning. Just let me know and we can arrange something. How can my parents get in touch with you if they need to? You can call my cell (443-243-4061), or e-mail me by clicking on the mailbox on the home-page of this site. |
